Who should take the test?
Our Lyme Disease Test is recommended for those who have been exposed to tick-prone areas, experienced tick bites, or exhibit symptoms suggestive of Lyme disease.
Lyme Disease, caused by Borrelia burgdorferi and transmitted through tick bites, is the most prevalent tick-borne infection in the US, primarily found in the northeast, mid-Atlantic, and north-central regions. It progresses through three clinical stages, potentially resulting in various health problems if left untreated. Timely detection and treatment are therefore crucial to prevent long-term complications.
Important notes:
- The antibodies take several weeks to build up in the bloodstream, so taking the test before 4-6 weeks have passed may result in a false negative result.
- Cross Reactivity: There is the potential for this test to produce a false positive result in people with Epstein – Barr virus or Toxoplasma.
- If you were previously diagnosed with Lyme disease, a positive Lyme test cannot distinguish between a current and a previous infection.
- A positive test result is not a clinical diagnosis of Lyme disease. Diagnosing Lyme disease can only be done by a medical professional. We strongly recommend consulting with your healthcare provider after receiving the results.
How does it work?
Once your order has been processed, you will be sent a blood sample collection kit. You collect your sample from the comfort of your own home and send it right back to our CLIA-certified partner laboratory. We analyze your sample and inform you that your results have been uploaded to your confidential account on our secure website.
What guidance will I get along with my results?
Following the completion of the analysis, you will receive a lab report that includes explanations for the analyzed markers and details on potential symptoms linked to imbalances. Additionally, we strongly advise that you discuss the results you receive from us with your healthcare provider or practitioner.
Moreover, additional information can be found on our website, particularly within various test categories, “health conditions,” and the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) section. If you have any further inquiries, please feel free to reach out to us by sending an email to contact@verisana.com.

You will be the sole person with access to this information, and we guarantee that we will not disclose your information to any unauthorized third parties.
