Who should take the test?

Our immune system reacts to foods that are actually harmless, as if they were dangerous and it fights them.  With our Food IgE Test, we examine foods that can trigger various symptoms.

The Food IgE Test measures your immune system’s IgE reactivity to the folliwing foods:

  • Alpha Lactalbumin, Beta Lactalbumin
  • Casein, Cheddar Cheese, Cow’s Milk, Goat Cheese
  • Beef, Chicken, Chicken Egg White, Chicken Egg Yolk, Ovalbumin, Ovomucoid, Pork
  • Blue Mussel, Cod, Pacific Sardine, Salmon, Shrimp, Tuna
  • Apple, Banana, Lemon, Orange, Pineapple, Strawberry
  • Carrot, Tomato, White Potato
  • Almond, Hazelnut, Oat, Walnut,Peanut
  • Rice, Soybean, Corn
  • Wheat, Rye, Baker’s Yeast, Brewer’s Yeast, Gluten, Barley
  • Chocolate
  • Also included: Cross-Reactive Carbohydrate Determinant

With our 44 Food IgE Test, you can find out which foods your body is reacting to. You can then start a diet rotation plan, through which you can optimize your diet individually and thus counteract inflammatory processes in the intestine.

The test is a quantitative ELISA analysis of specific IgE antibodies to 44 common foods.

How does it work?

You take a dry blood spot sample at home, send it back to us and we will send you your result with information on how strongly your body reacts to the respective food.

What guidance will I get along with my results?

Your findings contain detailed information about your body’s reaction to the above foods and whether this reaction is minimal, weak, mild to moderate, or strong. You can then discuss these results with your doctor or alternative practitioner, who can advise you on how to proceed and on the various therapy options.

Although we do not offer medical advice ourselves, we will gladly assist you in finding a suitable therapist in your area. Besides, further information is available on our website, especially in the different test categories, under “health conditions” and the FAQs. Still have questions? Then you can contact us by mail at contact@verisana.com.

How is my privacy protected?

Samples for our tests are collected in the privacy of your own home. We and our partner laboratories (who may be contracted by us to conduct some or all analyses of your test) take customer privacy very seriously. Only you will have access to this information and we will not share your information with any not authorized third party. All samples are disposed of following analysis.

Any Questions?

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions regarding this test. Your question is missing? Please contact us at:

I am not getting enough blood from my finger, what can I do?

Prepare the blood draw well: Hold your hand a little longer under warm water and circle your arm to stimulate blood circulation. Prick the finger on the side, not directly on top of the fingertip. The middle or ring finger of the non-dominant hand is usually best. When piercing, place your finger on a firm surface to avoid unconscious pulling back. A light squeeze and massage towards the fingertip helps stimulate blood flow. Alternatively, blood can be taken from the earlobe or from the vein (at the doctor's).

What is the difference between food allergy and food sensitivity?

So-called "real" food allergies are allergies, where the body reacts immediately with symptoms. For example, with shortness of breath when you have a peanut allergy. With some foods, the body does not react with immediate reactions, but it does produce IgG antibodies. If you continue to consume these foods, in the long term, among other things, digestive problems or signs of inflammation such as joint pain can occur.
